Local beauty wins top crown at pageant

Special to The Highlander On Sunday, Oct. 27, 11-year-old Adilyn Smiles from Sunrise Beach com - peted in the Our Little Miss Texas State Schol - arship Pageant in Bastrop. From the time she was 6, this little girl's dream was to win the coveted robe and scepter and reign with a group of girls who she could become sisters with. Not only did she win Queen in her division with the title of Texas' Univer - sal Beauty but she also came home with Model of the Year and Miss Photo genic.
