Special to The Highlander The Spicewood Com - munity Center is having its annual Hobo Stew fundraiser starting at 5:00 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2024. There will be a Cake Walk and Hobo Stew with cornbread, iced tea and dessert. We will serve until we run out of stew. Cakes are welcome for the Cake Walk. This is a Spicewood tradition as the event has been going on for over 40 years. The annual fundraiser is open to everyone. We suggest you arrive early to enjoy chatting with your neighbors and meet new people that have moved into the area. The Spicewood Com - munity Center was for - merly known as the Old Spicewood School House is located at 7901 CR 404. Thanks to a recent acquisition by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD), 630 acres in the Texas Hill County have been preserved adjacent to Enchanted Rock State Natural Area.
