State buys another 1,100 acres for park land in Burnet County
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) finalized the purchase of 1,100 acres in Lampasas and Burnet Counties, completing the second phase of an acquisition to create a new state park. The property is located across the river from Colorado Bend State Park and includes 1.5 miles of Yancey Creek, limestone bluffs and several natural springs.

Early voting gets underway today
Voters will go to the polls starting today for a number of municipal and city elections as well as a multi-million dollar Marble Falls ISD school election bond. Early voting for the May 3 begins Tuesday, April 22.

Police to engage citizens with feedback software
The Marble Falls Police Department has launched Versaterm CommunityConnect, formerly SPIDR Tech, to better communicate with and serve citizens needing police services or assistance. This technology is designed to keep victims of crime, reporting parties, and 9-1-1 callers updated after they request police assistance and services.
