Scott Hendrix’s last conscious thought was, “If I can make it to the general store in Spicewood and get a water or something, maybe I’ll feel better.” On Nov. 6, 2024, Hendrix had been feeling “dazed and confused.” During phone conversations earlier that week, his sons remarked that “he was out of it.” After pulling over near Llano High School, Hendrix managed to drive to the Spicewood General Store, but upon arriving, he collapsed as he stepped out of his truck.

Burnet County accepts 800-acre land donation
The Burnet County Commissioners Court accepted through a probated will the donation of about 800 acres from a local family. The land is comprised of four tracts near Texas 29 and FM 2341, valued at $17.2 million, out of the Hattie and Laymond Parks Ranch and the Estate of Donna Parks and Doris Parks Gonzales.
